There’s so much to rave about this hotel, right in the centre of Kotor’s old town. But let’s start with the room that I booked, which has a verandah that gives you the best view imaginable of the Bay of Kotor.

There. I just let you see my untrimmed nails. Never mind that the flowers are fake. But that view is not.
Then there’s the room. It combines the aesthetics of the stone walls with wood tiles in muted colours. The bed is big and comfortable, and the toilet and shower area make use of slabs of fantasy brown marble. And there is that view. That magnificent view.

Food is amazing – from breakfast to dinner – and you have the option to sit indoors or bask in the sunlight in the courtyard.

Finally, the service team is super helpful. My room attendant is a Filipino from Davao who delights me with fresh towels and a clean room every day.
I stayed at the property for four nights, and I never regretted my choice. Of course, it’s a bit pricey, but every euro is worth it.
