The Shorea Estate and the Serenity of Seremban

Written by:

I was invited to facilitate a workshop by a feminist organisation in Malaysia and I was fascinated by the venue they chose for the convening.

While The Shorea Estate in Seremban, nestled in the Berembun Forest Reserve, has seen better days (with a few service weaknesses here and there), its serenity and tranquility is such a welcome respite from many months of urban living.

Your room opens up to a blue sky with the green trees standing attention across the rolling hills. The pool reflects the cool weather and scenery. The wooden planks and huge glass windows gives you a feeling that you are one with nature as you sleep, birds all over serenading you with their song.

Ahh. Such bliss.
