Ten Moons Sunset Villas

Written by:

A friend recommended Koh Lipe for a relatively longer holiday (well, in my case, 5 days is already long). We have been thinking about going since two years ago – but the travel is quite long (well, 2 hours flight, 2 hours land trip and 1.5 hours speed boat ride is long, to be honest). But this time, we decided to go.

It’s Koh Lipe’s peak season so the room costs are quite prohibitive. I have been looking at several properties then finally decided to stay at Ten Moons Sunset Villas, in one of the pool villas that overlook the sea.

Ten Moons have two properties – one at Sunrise beach and this one. I opted for this one because it is new, the view breath-taking, and the villas are beautiful. It just opened a year ago, and the property is quite a stunner. Truly, it never disappoints. The website photos represents the property well.

The Villas

We stayed at Villa 7, and I believe it is the best room in the property. You have a clear view of the sunset from here, and only one side has a wall. We spent so many days and afternoons and nights staying at the verandah fronting the private pool – watching the sky, the birds, and the stars at night. You need not leave the place to enjoy Lipe island, to be honest.

The Environs

The environment is stunningly beautiful. The beach, the beach bar, the pier where you can watch the sunset. You can go up and down the stairs and every nook is just a beautiful spot.

The Food

Breakfast is generous – unlimited food and drinks to your heart’s content. You will just be the one who say enough to yourself – as the crew keeps asking if you want something more. Dinners and lunches are delicious as well. We did not feel the need to go out somewhere to eat, though we did, to try a few restaurants on other parts of the island.

The Service

Service is excellent and not intrusive. They pick you up at the pier. They are ready with the usual cold towel and fresh juice when you arrive. They arrange tours for you. They ask you if you want to have your room cleaned and at what time, and also honours your privacy. They turn your lights on at dusk and puts the mosquito killers that has a pleasant smell when the insects start to roam around.

The People

The property’s biggest asset are its people. Juliet was kind and helpful and welcoming. Nine and Dada, the couple who serves at the restaurant and who has a beautiful daughter Khimuk were very friendly and attentive. There were so many of them to thank for our splendid stay.

We will surely come back (when we have the resources to do so). Koh Lipe is quite pricey during this season, and Ten Moons Sunset Villa is too. But it is worth all the travel and the penny. Hopefully when our son comes back from university schooling.

We highly recommend. Do visit!
