There are so many nice hotels in Hoi-An, and I really had a hard time choosing one. For me, it is not just about the cost, or the quality of rooms, but it is more about the space, the architecture, and the service. Also, I wanted to stay near Hoi-An’s old town.
So I settled for Hoi-An Historic Hotel for at least three reasons:
First, it is very near the old town.
I love exploring the old town even when this is the second time I have been to the city. This is the first time for my wife and kids, and I want them to just experience walking around the narrow alleys and explore the beauty of the place.

Second, I love the hotel’s architecture and the sprawling space.
The hotel blends effortlessly with the nearby old town. There is a huge courtyard, a very generous entrance (and round-about) to the main building, and buildings are fashioned like an old quarter, though this place was just opened in 1991.

Third, the rooms and facilities are stunning.
It has a small pool, yes, and a small gym, but because of the big space and surrounds, it does not feel cramped. We had a room that has a verandah facing the restaurant and the courtyard, and it was just a good spot to enjoy early morning sunrise, or the evening lights at dusk.

Finally, food is good.
Breakfast has a good spread of international and local food. We did not try lunch and dinner though, as there is just too many choices around.
Recommended? Yes. Will come back again? Definitely.
