The Surprise of Baan Suan Sathorn

One of the things I do to complete my daily steps goal is to walk around Bangkok, hop into a BTS or an MRT then stop at a station that I have not explored to see what’s good to see (or eat) in a particular location.

This time around, I decided to explore my neighborhood, roughly around 6 kilometer radius from our home at Soi Ngam Duphli.

I chanced upon a place that looks intriguing as there were many people who go in and out of the location which looks like an oversized garden. So I decided to open this door below, which was the entrance to Baan Suan Sathorn’s coffee shop on the right hand side of the property.

The place, I should say is a good find. I am a sucker for old things and repurposed spaces and the coffee shop was just full of these.

I ordered a cappucino, left my things at the table, and explored the rest of the property which also has an indoor and outdoor restaurant, in the middle of a garden, with a fake stream from a fake waterfalls, and smoke coming from, I think, dry ice. 🙂

It was a beautiful place. An oasis of sort in the middle of Bangkok’s skyscrapers. I spent the rest of my time reading. As I was not hungry, I promised myself to be back for lunch.
