(Revisiting a TripAdvisor review I wrote many years back; hoping that another visit will be granted by Him. Soon.)
I have always wanted to stay at Amun Ini in Anda, Bohol for a few years now, but my incessant travelling has prevented my family and me from spending our vacation here. It’s located on the island where I live (Bohol), and we can go there anytime, I used to say. But with the lockdown and more than 15 months of not travelling outside the province, we finally had the time to be here.

Amun Ini is home – this is what I felt as soon as we entered the gates of the property. From the warm welcome at the reception (complete with all the necessary protocols, the usual cold towel and watermelon-coconut welcome drinks) to the relaxed, no-frills dinner, the place bursts with a warmth that you often do not get with some resorts where service seems scripted and rehearsed.

The people at Amun Ini exudes “naturalness”, that matches the vibe of the property. There is minimal disruption to the natural terrain, vegetation seems untouched for what seemed like ages, and the property designers tried as much as they could to blend nature with built infrastructure.

We got two rooms, and we were glad we did. We planned to switch spaces during our stay. For our first night, I bonded with my 16-year-old son in a twin bedroom while my wife spent the night with our 11-year old daughter in a cozy king-bed bedroom just beside ours. Alodia at the front office was very kind enough to heed my request for two rooms that sit close to each other, situated on the second floor with a very nice view of the pool, the sea, and the horizon.

We went swimming this morning, and we had the beach to ourselves. It was just magical. The serenity was beautiful. It was like getting a hug from Mother Nature in the most inexplicably beautiful way. While having lunch within the comforts of our room, we discussed how we loved the place, and how we wanted to come back, even when we are still here! Talk about forward-planning!
Food is good and filling. We even forgot to order lunch because we were full after a hearty breakfast. The kitchen and housekeeping crew are very friendly without being intrusive. They made us all feel at home.
I judge resort rooms with the quality of my sleep. My app said that I had 8 hours of sleep with 100% efficiency, 2% snoring, and 93% deep sleep. That’s awesome.
Amun Ini is simply paradise. Try it to believe!
