A Luoi and the meaning of poverty

It’s one of those work trips where you are confronted with fundamental questions like whether our standards of affluence and poverty are defined narrowly to focus only on wealth and access to comfort, regardless of whether or not that’s multidimensional or human development orientated.  A Luoi is considered as one of Vietnam’s poorest districts but being there makes me wish that all districts in the world are like A Luoi.
The sky is emerald blue. Clear water runs the river. The forest nearby smells fresh like a bud peeping forth. And people are kind, smiling, and genuine.
