Quirky 350 Cafe: Bangkok

Written by:

I am fascinated with old buildings and repurposed places. In one of my walks around the Hua Lumphung area near Thailand’s old railway station, I chanced upon this cafe that reminds me of Manila’s Intramuros. I do not know why, but it just seemed that because of the decor and the vibe, it felt like some old spirit lives there as soon as I entered the space.

Old cabinets, old chairs, an American flag, a David bust, old iron, some books, a cage here, a chessboard there, all set against unpainted concrete walls – how cool and how spooky is that at the same time? I’d probably not allow myself to be left here on my own as it really does seem as if somebody is watching.

The good thing is, food is good, desserts are inspiring, and coffee gives you the right kick without the acid feels to the stomach so I am good with this.

Do I recommend? Hmmm, maybe. But not worth a trip on its own. So if you want to come, stitch it with a few other things to do nearby.
